POINTLESS
A meditation on repetition, labor, and the hidden mechanics of creation, Pointless reexamines the most ubiquitous yet overlooked tool of mark-making: the #2 pencil. Liguori meticulously sharpens pencils to exhaustion, using each one to draw thousands of lines—recording its own erasure in the process. The resulting works, encased in their spent graphite and wood shavings, challenge the perceived disposability of materials and the paradox of artistic labor: is the act of drawing itself the art, or is it the residue left behind?
By elevating a simple writing instrument to a subject of conceptual scrutiny, Pointless blurs the line between utility and futility, transforming an object of daily use into a record of time, process, and entropy.
