HOLOGRAPHIC HIVE

Holographic Hive
Performed live in the planetarium at the Science Museum of Western Virginia.

A deconstruction of traditional holography, Holographic Hive explores the ephemeral nature of light through an immersive installation of 187 convex mirrors. Using projection mapping and atmospheric haze, the work refracts and reflects geometric patterns, creating an illusion of holographic depth. Inspired by the historical Pepper’s Ghost effect, this piece challenges the boundary between presence and illusion, questioning the materiality of light itself.
